The Jack Earle Trio: The Music of Horace Silver

Horace Silver - One of the greatest composers of the Hard Bop era, had a career spanning almost 60 years, playing with all the big names in Jazz! Tonight. The Jack Earle Trio pays homage to this brilliant pianist, composer and all round legend.

The Jack Earle Trio thrilled to be playing with two of the best horn players in the biz: Mat Jodrell & Tim Wilson!

Trumpeter Mat Jodrell is one of the most exciting voices in Jazz today. He has recently returned to Australia after having lived in New York City for the past eight years, performing around the city and teaching at the prestigious Juilliard School of Music.

Released in 2018 and recorded in NYC, it features one of the world’s finest trios - Frank Kimbrough, Jay Anderson and Lewis Nash. Since moving back to Australia, Mat has been lecturing at the James Morrison Academy, as well as recording and touring with many projects including his co-led group Speedball.

Tim is an Australian based saxophonist, woodwind instrumentalist & composer/improvisor, who has performed, toured, and recorded with a broad range of artists and ensembles including Ray Charles, Olivia Newton John, Natalie Cole, Tony Bennett, Hugh Jackman, Melbourne Symphony Orchestra, The Australian Art Orchestra, Wyecliffe Gordon, Wayne Bergeron, Michael Buble, Bobby Shew, James Morrison, Jamie Oehlers, Rex Richardson, Scott Tinkler, & Mike Nock.
