Released at the Jazzlab in November of 2018, Felix Meredith's debut album "The Escapist" was an attempt to distill his interpretation of the Melbourne jazz sound into a concise record. Now, having recorded his second record in August of this year, the young trumpet player/composer is bringing a new sound to the Jazzlab.
The intention? To push this music beyond it's sonic and cultural barriers, into the exciting musical universe of 2020. The sound? You’ll have to be there to find out!
With sounds as diverse as his influences, Felix Meredith's music strives to capture the untold story of the underground music scene. Performing pieces from his upcoming sophomore record, as well as a curated selection of unusual covers, tonight's gig will feature an adventurous array of sonic textures, performed by a group of young innovators.
