The Australian-Brazilian Ensemble

The Australian-Brazilian Ensemble is a new collective of improvisers and composers with a shared interest in the mixing of musical cultures, and the exploration of new compositional and improvisational spaces. The premiere of this group will feature guitarist Ken Murray as guest-musical director, with additional compositions from Australian and Brazilian composers.
Ken Murray is a leading figure in Australia’s vibrant guitar scene, and is recognized for his work in new Australian works as well as his interpretations of Spanish and Brazilian styles. He has recently recorded a new album of his own compositions, and this performance will feature many of those pieces.
