Brenton Foster 6tet

Brenton Foster 6tet hit the road in celebration of their acclaimed second album, The Nature Of Light. Featuring some of Melbourne’s finest jazz musicians and improvisers, the band will travel throughout south-eastern Australia in September and October. Showcasing Brenton’s stunning compositions, masterful piano playing and soulful vocal stylings, the band will perform music from The Nature Of Light, and their debut record, Two Cities, alongside re-imagined favourites from the Great American Songbook.

Released at the 2017 Stonnington Jazz Festival and heralded at the 2017 Melbourne International Jazz Festival, The Nature Of Light is an emotionally charged future classic. Described as a “modern jazz triumph” the album was PBS Feature Record in May 2017.

Brenton Foster 6tet features Brenton Foster (piano/vocals), Gideon Brazil (saxophone/flute), Tom Jovanovic (trumpet), Chris Vizard (trombone), Jordan Tarento (double bass), and Aaron McCoullough (drums).

“Foster is quietly forging a path to the upper echelon of the contemporary jazz world” Chelsea Wilson (PBS FM).
