Johannes Luebbers Dectet

Formed in 2007, Johannes Luebbers Dectet (JLD) is a jazz chamber group focussed on the nexus between jazz and classical traditions.

Combining jazz improvisation, orchestral instrumentation and a diverse compositional language, JLD has released two albums, resulting in two jazz ‘Bell’ awards and an APRA/AMC Art Music Award. In 2017 JLD celebrated 10 years of innovative musical activity with the initiation of the 10x10x10 project. This project features 10 new works, each a feature for one of the 10 members, and each created in collaboration with the featured artist. Tonight will feature selections of the 10x10x10 project, along with compositions from their 10 year history.

This performance will feature the following artists:

Angela Davis: alto sax

Mirko Guerrini: tenor sax
