Andrea Keller Curates: Hannah McKittrick Quartet
Hannah McKittrick is a vocalist and composer, and her music is inspired by post-minimal works and the patterns that emerge from minimalist traditions of art music. She attempts to write music that is spacious and intimate, with a focus on texture and atmosphere.
Her debut jazz record ‘Slippery’ was released late last year in conjunction with her Honours dissertation at VCA, and has since garnered play on ABC Jazz and PBS. She most recently completed a commission for the University of Melbourne, that explored the senselessness of explicit violence against women through composition for voice, guitar and electronics.
