Melbourne International Jazz Festival (MIJF)
The Melbourne International Jazz Festival is a world-class jazz festival held annually in Melbourne Australia since 1998. For 10 days every year, we take the underground above ground, showcasing and celebrating jazz culture. We bring together the biggest and best names in international jazz alongside leading and emerging contemporary Australian artists. We commission new work and present world premieres and Festival exclusives. We celebrate the history of jazz as we open up its future.

See out the Festival in the best possible way as internationally sought after bassist/improviser Sam Anning launches his highly anticipated album, ‘Oaatchapai’.
Following on from Anning’s award-winning 2018 release ‘across a field as vast as one’, ‘Oaatchapai’ features an extraordinary ensemble and is intricately constructed, wild in interpretation, firmly rooted in tradition but constantly striving towards future modes of expression.
